One of the major challenges we face in today's Global Knowledge Economy is that we, as a region, are competing not just against our near neighbours, but against skills and services that can now be sourced and provided for, from anywhere in the world.

Over recent years we have forged long-term relationships with some powerful international collaborators to provide a high quality, inspitarional global exchange programme to experience cultural and working life in different countries.

Students, apprentices and employees from the UK and Europe develop language skills, cultural awareness as well as understanding the skills and attributes needed to work globally.

Businesses who trade or who want to start trading internationally derive enormous benefits in either hosting a delegation or indeed placing their own staff in the countries of their customers and suppliers.

Our global exchange is regarded internationally as an exceptional model of good practice now being shared worldwide.

European Apprenticeship Programme

• Apprentices from our partner organisations in Europe travel to the UK for three weeks, to undertake one week of cultural activities followed by a two week placement in a company relevant to their trade.

Travel to Learn

• Local school and college students undertake a two week work placement in Europe relevant to their course or line of study.

Apprentis 2

• Employees from UK businesses undertake one week Passive House hands-on training and a one week work placement relevant to their trade in Belgium.

European Toolkit

• b&e is working with six european partners to create an online resource for all participants travelling across europe on mobility programmes.
